Brief 3 - Provocation Pieces
The third brief required me to make pieces of work that would provoke an audience. It consisted of 2 phases - one of which was to create something that was pocket sized and the other to create something interactive.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of the third brief of the project, involved me creating a piece of work that would provoke an audience - the only key thing to make sure that it was pocket sized.
Hence, I created these pocket sized lottery tickets in relation to the measles vaccine. The ticket shows users what their chances of getting measles are if they aren’t vaccinated. It consists of 10 icons of an illustrated face. 9 out of these icons will reveal a face covered in red spots to indicate measles - this is because the chances of getting measles (if not vaccinated against it) are 9 out of 10.
Phase 2
For phase 2 of the third brief of the project, I created another piece of work elaborated from the first phase, which would provoke an audience - this time it was interactive.
I created a piece of equipment that could be potentially used in hospitals or similar public spaces to allow users to find out their chances of getting measles if they aren’t vaccinated against it. The piece allows them to interact with it, which will then reveal a flashed message stating whether they are ‘lucky’ or ‘unlucky’ - 9 times out of 10, it will say ‘unlucky’ to mirror the chances of contracting measles if not vaccinated.
